Whether you are 8 or 98 you can become an astronaut, viewing the curvature of the earth and experience weightlessness in an amazing sub-orbital rocket which flys past the Kármán line – the boundary of space which is 100km (62 miles) above ground level. We offer a choice of an action-packed adrenaline pumping experience or a space flight that is just as exciting but in a calm environment of a space capsule suspended under a balloon.
Sub-Orbital Space Travel
Sub-orbital is a term you’ll be familiar with if you keep up to date with the pioneering space activities of leading space organisations such as Virgin Galactic, Blue Origin and Space X. Their sub-orbital vehicles allow you to view the curvature of the earth safely and experience true weightlessness. RocketBreaks have partnered with experts in sub-orbital space flights to create a range of experiences for you.
Space Perspective
Space Perspective is a space tourism company that offers a unique experience to travel to the edge of space on a high-tech balloon, known as the Spaceship Neptune. The sub-orbital experience takes passengers on a six-hour journey, which includes a two-hour ascent to an altitude of about 100,000 feet above the earth’s surface.
During the ascent, passengers get to enjoy the breathtaking views of the earth’s curvature, and once at the maximum altitude, they get to experience weightlessness and see the blackness of space and the thin layer of the earth’s atmosphere.
Space Perspective has partnered with RocketBreaks to offer an all-inclusive package that includes the sub-orbital experience, accommodations, transportation, and other amenities. RocketBreaks is a luxury travel company that specializes in creating unique and immersive travel experiences. Together, Space Perspective and RocketBreaks aim to offer a once-in-a-lifetime experience that combines adventure, luxury, and science.
The Spaceship Neptune is designed to be eco-friendly, and the company aims to use this technology to conduct research and advance scientific understanding of the earth’s atmosphere and climate. The sub-orbital experience offered by Space Perspective and RocketBreaks is an opportunity to contribute to scientific research while enjoying a unique and unforgettable travel experience.
Virgin Galactic
Take a flight on Virgin Galactic’s Spaceship Unity to enjoy the most awe inspiring view. There are a few hundred future astronauts signed up to this flight. Join Virgin Galactic, who will host three days of preparation and training onsite at Spaceport America in New Mexico before flying to space.
Your space flight is propelled by WhiteKnightTwo which takes off and climbs to an altitude of 50,000 feet, at this point the pilots release Spaceship Unity from WhiteKnightTwo and engage the rocket motor sending you into space.
In space you can leave your seat for several minutes and experience weightlessness in your custom made spacesuit, before flying back down to Earth.
Blue Origin
Enjoy your sub-orbital flight with the New Shepard space vehicle by Blue Origin.
You’ll travel to the New Shepard launch site in West Texas two days before your flight to take part is some pre-flight training, which includes mission and vehicle overviews, in-depth safety briefings, mission simulation, and instructions regarding your in-flight activities such as operational procedures, communications, and manoeuvring in a weightless environment.
Guests are welcome to come along to the training centre.
During the flight you will reach speeds of more than Mach 3. And once in space you can release your harness to experience weightlessness, enjoying the most beautiful view thanks to the largest windows in spaceflight history. After rejoining your seat, you will descend back to Earth. Blue Origin uses parachutes and thrusters to reduce its speed and land safely back in Texas.
