Virgin Galactic Bookings Reopen: What We Know So Far

Virgin Galactic bookings are available again, according to the company’s current website. For travellers who have been following its next generation of spaceplanes, this is a development worth watching.

However, a booking opportunity and a confirmed flight date are two different things. Here is what prospective passengers should know before taking the next step.

What has changed with Virgin Galactic bookings?

The official Virgin Galactic website now displays “Limited Bookings Now Available” and invites visitors to begin their journey. RocketBreaks checked this wording on 7 October 2026.

The public homepage does not state the current seat price, deposit requirements, refund terms or number of places available. As a result, those details need direct confirmation.

How much will a seat cost?

In its 12 August 2026 business update, Virgin Galactic reported that an earlier allocation priced at US$750,000 per seat had sold out ahead of schedule and attracted more demand than available places. It also planned a further allocation at higher prices during autumn 2026.

The latest website message may reflect that planned release. Nevertheless, the company has not publicly connected the two announcements or disclosed a new price. US$750,000 therefore describes the previous allocation, rather than a confirmed quote for today’s bookings.

When could passengers fly?

The August update targeted February 2027 for the first commercial flight of the new spaceplane programme, with flight testing expected to begin in October 2026. That remains a development target, subject to successful testing and operational readiness.

It also does not establish when a newly booking passenger would travel. Anyone considering Virgin Galactic bookings should request their own expected flight window in writing.

Questions to ask before paying a deposit

Space travel is an exceptional purchase. Before making a commitment, ask for clear answers to these practical questions:

  • What is the total price, and exactly what does it include?
  • How much is payable now, and when is the balance due?
  • What happens to your payment if the programme or your flight is delayed?
  • Which cancellation and refund rights apply?
  • What preparation, eligibility checks and travel arrangements are required?

Keep a copy of the written answers and booking agreement. Clear terms help you plan both the experience and the wider trip.
